Quest for Moldova
                                     - one of the most unhappy places of the world

Moldova is a landlocked country
It has been 'gulped' by the Sov Union for almost a century, during which Ukraine and Romania have both occupied. Only independent since 1991.

So in a way I guess I could understand why it's constantly one of the most unhappy places in the whole world.

Moldova
a place which I bet none of you, who read this, would have heard of
Comparatively HK is a world-renowned city...even if some blondes think it's the capital of Japan....Fine, at least you know, heard about HONG KONG
Us in the 90s grew up having the best in the world - learning English and Chinese the two most important languages, gaining worldwide perspective watching Disney films together with Stephen Chow's - all globally recognised.

Now could I justify myself in saying I'm so interested in one of the most unhappy places in the world Moldova?
I really want to see and experience what it's like

per Moldova website:
"Moldova is a country where dreams come true, a place where fairy tales turn into reality..." - Such impressions have those who were lucky to discover this small land between Ukraine and Romania. Old monasteries, slumberous forests, endless hills, fair sky and friendly sun give a special charm to this country."

Also it has the cleanest air in the world (per Wiki)

========================================

Exposed before the entire city at 12 degrees...

although I have never liked you
I trully feel sorry for you

It's not that terrible, I knew Peace Corps volunteers who extended their stay because they liked it so much :)
People don't smile a lot, but are kind and very hospitable.
Unhappy? probably...I took off 10 years ago and so did a quarter of my country out of 4 million people (total population), 1 million is abroad. There is a number of factors why we don't like it there, but you could visit it yourself draw your own conclusions. You can see more of Moldova here http://www.flickr.com/groups/moldova/
I grew up there and I remember my childhood as the happiest time of my life, we grew up just as you - happy, learning the most important languages in the world (to us) - Russian(streets) as we were part of USSR, Romanian(at home), English and French in schools :)
Ultimately I think we are just tired: Our little peace of land was part of Romania for centuries until the Russians decided that they could just take it and after the WW1 we went back to Romania, then after WW2 back to Russia then the Communism, then Ukraine decides to cut itself a couple of pieces of land one in the North and one in the South( the sea and the mountains). Our country is rather small, we could not defend ourselves... so many struggles... just tired :)
